Multi-instrumentalist, orchestrator, and educator Seth Crail is a passionate student of life; he aspires to learn the intricacies of skill and to explore the bounds of obtainable knowledge.
Seth is currently obtaining his second degree from the University of Miami: Frost School of Music in Studio Jazz Writing. He has worked with a long list of highly acclaimed educators and musicians such as Maria Schneider, Gary Lindsay, John Daversa and Carlos Rafael Rivera.
Extraordinary music requires flawless presentation. Fluent in the most recent notation softwares and practices, Seth will turn your music into professional and precise sheet music.
Seth's position as a writer for the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra at the Frost School of Music has given him experience in arranging pop, jazz and rock music for orchestral settings. It has also allowed him to write arrangements for well-known soloists such as Donny McCaslin, Lucy Woodward, and Shelly Berg.
Acting as the Music Supervisor and Composer for “July Rising”, Seth has experience in all aspects of production for film, from work contracts and interpersonal communication to conducting and running recording sessions, as well as audio post-production.
As showcased in his score for the short film “Raising Ants” Seth also has robust experience creating virtually orchestrated music for smaller-budget films.
Seth is excited to help you become an expert in music theory, composition, and saxophone technique.
As a teaching assistant for the saxophone studio at the Frost School of Music, Seth has teaching experience in a vast array of settings: online and in person private lessons, lecture classes, large and small ensembles, masterclasses, and workshops.
