Seth Crail is a passionate student of life; he finds his joy learning new ways to be involved in creating music. With two degrees from the highly-acclaimed Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Seth is currently residing in Los Angeles as a composer, orchestrator, multi-instrumentalist and educator. He has worked with a long list of highly acclaimed educators and musicians including Carlos Rivera, Maria Schneider, Gary Lindsay and John Daversa.
Extraordinary music requires flawless execution. Fluent in the most current notation softwares and practices, Seth can turn your music into professional and precise sheet music for both the recording studio or the concert hall. Seth's position as a writer for the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra at the Frost School of Music has also given him experience in arranging pop, jazz and rock music for orchestral settings. He has written arrangements for many well-known soloists such as Donny McCaslin, Lucy Woodward and Shelly Berg.
Acting as the Music Supervisor and Composer for “July Rising”, Seth's experience includes all aspects of production for film—from work contracts and interpersonal communication to conducting and running recording sessions as well as audio post-production.
As showcased in his music for the short films “Raising Ants” and “The Truth of a Thousand Nights”, Seth also has robust experience creating virtually orchestrated music for smaller-budget films.
Seth is excited to help you become an expert in music theory, composition and saxophone technique.
As both a private instructor and a former teaching assistant for the saxophone studio at the Frost School of Music, Seth has experience in a vast array of settings: online and in person private lessons, lecture classes, large and small ensembles, masterclasses and workshops.
