Seth Crail is a passionate musician who loves finding new ways to be involved in music production. With two degrees from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Seth is currently residing in Los Angeles as a composer, orchestrator, multi-instrumentalist and educator. He has worked with a long list of highly acclaimed educators and musicians including Carlos Rivera, Maria Schneider, Gary Lindsay and John Daversa.
Extraordinary music requires flawless execution. Fluent in the most current notation softwares and practices, Seth can turn your music into professional and precise sheet music for both the recording studio or the concert hall. Seth's position as a writer for the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra at the Frost School of Music has also given him experience in arranging pop, jazz and rock music for orchestral settings. He has written arrangements for many well-known soloists such as Donny McCaslin, Lucy Woodward and Shelly Berg.
A student of the Emmy Award-winning composer Carlos Rivera, Seth has composed original scores for several feature and short films, including July Rising (2019), Mississippi Messiah (2022), and Raising Ants (2019).
He is prepared to facilitate the entire production of a film score from orchestration and hiring to recording sessions, conducting, and mixing.
Robust experience in virtually orchestrated music has also helped him create intricate and emotional scores and mockups despite low production budgets.
Seth is excited to help you become an expert in music theory, composition and saxophone technique.
As both a private instructor and a former teaching assistant for the saxophone studio at the Frost School of Music, Seth has experience in a vast array of settings: online and in person private lessons, lecture classes, large and small ensembles, masterclasses and workshops.
